Nipa Panda first started practicing yoga in Mumbai, India, at the tender age of 15. Her flexibility from years of gymnastics enabled her to transition to a yoga practice seamlessly and she was deeply moved by the powerful mind-body benefits she experienced.
Nipa grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana and graduated from Boston University before moving to New York City at the age of 22. It was there that she took her first yoga class with renowned teacher Jean Koerner and became instantly hooked.
In 2003, Nipa enrolled in the 200-hr yoga teacher training at Be Yoga (now ISHTA yoga by Alan Finger) and the 500-hr yoga teacher training immediately after.
Nipa specializes in teaching in-home privates and she has been doing so for the last 13 years. She is certified in Hatha, Vinyasa, Prenatal, Restorative, and Kids Yoga. In the Fall of 2017, she will be getting her certification in Yoga Mom & Buddha Baby from Karma Kids Yoga.
Nipa has traveled the world attending several yoga retreats: Goa, India; The Gambia, Africa; Bali, Indonesia; Napa Valley, CA; The Catskills Mt, NY, etc. In 2015, Nipa was the worldwide winner of the ONEWORLD Retreat yoga picture contest that won her a trip to Bali. She also practices Bhakti Yoga and attends many Kirtans, especially of world renowned chanter and good friend, Krishna Das.
Nipa recently moved to Scarsdale, Westchester, where she resides with her husband and two year old son who has followed in mommy's footsteps by practicing yoga daily.
