Petrina was first introduced to yoga when she was 16. After her career as a professional modern dancer and choreographer ended due to a car accident she immersed herself in studying yoga, eastern & western healing arts (shiatsu, acupuncture, culinary therapy) and meditation (vipassana & shambhala).
She honors the Krishnamacharya lineage of yoga, and is deeply grateful to her most influential teachers: Nancy Gilgoff (Ashtanga), Mary Sinclair (Iyengar), John Friend and Desiree Rumbaugh (Anusara Yoga), Shiva Rea (advanced vinyasa yoga teacher training), and Sarah Powers (Yin Yoga training).
Over the last 20+ years she has assisted hundreds of people of all walks of life to regain their balance of body-mind-spirit as a full time yoga teacher. In her classes, private sessions and retreats she blends a wealth of knowledge and experience to create a safe, dynamic and transformative practice for her students to inspire more vibrant and conscious living.
When not on the mat or creating delicious meals for her family & friends, she loves to garden and hike with three of her favorite beings who make her laugh a lot – her husband Jose Norbu and their dogs Zizou and Boogie.
